Shahrukh greeted by the Prime Minister in New Zealand

Fans greeting their matinee idol are not a new sight, but Shah Rukh Khan got a rare accolade indeed when the Prime Minister of the country of New Zealand extended a warm welcome to the star. John Key, who is the Prime Minister of New Zealand also happens to be the minister of tourism of the country. Khan was welcomed with a traditional Maori dance. The Prime Minister then presented him with an official New Zealand Black Caps cricket team shirt. The star said that he would pass on the shirt to his son.

The hero of ‘Chennai Express’ reached the island country for the celebration of his ‘Temptations reloaded’ show. The 47 year old actor is hard at practice for his show in Auckland. It has been described as the biggest Bollywood road show in Australasia. More than 100 cast and crew members from India are involved in the show. Last year, the show took place in Jakarta. This year, after his stint in New Zealand, Shah Rukh also has plans to stage the show in Sydney and Perth. Madhuri Dixit – Nene, Jacquelyn Fernandez and Rani Mukherjee are other notable Bollywood personalities who will be appearing in the show with King Khan.

Shah Rukh was touched by the personal affection extended by the Prime Minister of the country. In his speech, Shah Rukh said that he supported the idea of New Zealand as the destination for shooting new films. He also reminisced about his earlier works in that country during some shootings.

In recent years, ‘Players’ and ‘I hate luv stories’ starring Imraan Khan was filmed in New Zealand.

In his tweeter account, Shah Rukh wrote, "In Auckland. How pretty is this place? Now onto rehearsals and stuff. It was so many years ago that I performed here...(now it is) very different and new."

Madhuri was also excited about the upcoming show. She tweeted, "Admiring the beautiful artwork on the beach at Auckland. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh has arrived too! After a lovely day around the city... Now heading for rehearsals for the show with Shah Rukh, Rani and Jacqueline."

Meanwhile, Fernandez was almost overwhelmed as she tweeted, "Auckland! Beautiful weather, beautiful city, beautiful people, beautiful beautiful beautiful."

The grand show comes with dazzling costumes, electrifying musical performances and breathless dance numbers. Astonishing pyrotechnics completes the greatest Bollywood show ever to have come to Auckland.
