Shahrukh, Farhan Akhtar to act together in 'Raees'
Eid 2015 just got more exciting! Rahul Dholakia has announced his next film, ‘Raees’ which will see Shah Rukh Khan and Farhan Akhtar in the lead roles. Shah Rukh Khan plays a boot-legger in the film, while Farhan Akhtar plays a police officer. Not only has Rahul got the two versatile actors together in a film, he is the first director to get the highly coveted slot, Eid 2015 for the film’s release. ‘We all have decided to release this film on Eid in 2015’, said Dholakia. ‘Shooting for the film will begin from mid next year. Shah Rukh will be playing a bootlegger and Farhan a policeman. It is an interesting story’, Dholakia was seen telling. The story of the film is to be set in Gujarat. He did not divulge any more details about the movie, giving rise to a lot of excited speculations.
The interesting aspect of this film is that it will be the first time that Shahrukh and Farhan shall be seen together in a movie. Before this, Shah Rukh had acted as the main lead in the remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s film, ‘Don’ which was directed and co-produced by Farhan Akhtar in the year 2006 and in the sequel to ‘Don’ which was directed and co-written by Farhan. ‘Don 2’ was produced by Ritesh Sidhwani of Excel Entertainment who will also be producing ‘Raees’.
Another interesting thing to look out for in the film will be watching Farhan chasing Shah Rukh. The two are known to be very good friends and are held in high esteem in the acting field. It will be no doubt that the film will be a success. The names associated with the movie are already the main attraction.
Shooting of the film is to begin in mid 2014. The screenplay will be written by two Ahmedabad based journalists, Hari Mehta and Ashish Vashi. It has been known that it took Dholakia along with Mehta and Vashi more than two years to finish writing the script for the film.
Shah Rukh Khan is busy wrapping up Farah Khan’s ‘Happy New Year’, a high budget entertainer. Always keen on making big news with his work, he has now taken up ‘Raees’. Rahul Dholakia of ‘Parzania’ fame is most likely intent on having shah Rukh Khan adopting the Gujju Don look, according to media speculation. Style statement portrayed by Farhan is yet to be speculated on.
