Shahrukh will not give up smoking
King Khan said that he had not made any statement regarding quitting smoking to a Malayalam daily. He has been smoking for the last 20 years and had never thought of quitting it. To Shahrukh, his statement has been misinterpreted by the media. He only remarked that he will not light up cigarette during his 17 hours of journey in flight but the media has just misconstrue his statement. SRK quoted as saying, “The idea of quitting cropped up during a 17-hour flight. So if I can do without smoking in flight, I am sure I can do without it on land too.”
It is reported earlier that Shahrukh for the sake of his children would discard smoking as his children are dead against it. Many a times, Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss also warned Shahrukh and other Bollywood stars for smoking in public as it would set a wrong impression among the young generation. Shahrukh's smoking controversy erupted during an interview conducted at Pollachi in Tamil Nadu where he was shooting for Priyadarshan’s Billo Barber.
