Shah Rukh Khan apologised to Preity Zinta! Here’s why
Shah Rukh Khan has apologised to Preity Zinta after her forgot to mention her while thanking the cast and crew of Mani Ratnam’s 1998 film ‘Dil Se..’.
‘Dil Se..’ which released on August 21, 1998, has completed 18 years. Shah Rukh who played the lead role, expressed his gratitude to the cast and crew of the film and thanked them by reciting a popular dialogue from the film. He posted the video on Instagram and captioned it, “The one u love the most is sometimes not loved by most... but the love doesn’t change. My favourite. #18yearsofdilse.”
However, the Shah Rukh forgot to mention Preity, who made her Bollywood debut with a supporting role. But, as soon as he realised the blunder, he amended it by apologising to his ‘Veer-Zaara’ co-star and posted the same video with a new caption that read, “Sorry @realpreityzinta. With corrected credits. Thanks.”
Preity, who bagged the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award for the film, was nostalgic and said that “it all started” with ‘Dil Se..’. She posted a collage of stills from her debut movie on her Instagram page and captioned the picture, “#18yearsof_???_?? This is how it all started & I cannot thank @iamsrk @mkoirala & #Manisir enough! #criminalpsychologytomoovies #destiny.”
‘Dil Se..’ is a romantic thriller set against the backdrop if insurgency in Northeast India. the movie also featured Manisha Koirala as the lead actress, besides veteran actress Zohra Sehgal, Mita Vashisht, Sanjai Mishra and Piyush Mishra among others.
The movie is counted among the best works of Bollywood’s King Khan till date. The music was scored by A.R. Rahman and all the songs were chartbusters and are still popular. He also received the Filmfare Award for Best Music Director. The song ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’ featuring Malaika Arora, bagged Filmfare Awards for Best Lyrics by Gulzar and Best Choreography by Farah Khan. The film also received two National Awards for cinematography and audiography.
