Sanjay-Manyata receive court summons for April 1

It seems like the controversies surrounding Sanjay Dutt and his new bride Maanyata simply won't die down. After the recent controversy died down after Sanjay-Maanyata withdrew their marriage registration certificates in Goa, it seems like another issue regarding Sanjay-Maanyata's marriage has risen. Maanyata's ex husband Mehraj Sheikh has filed a complaint in court stating that Maanyata's marriage to Sanjay is illegal as she is not yet legally divorced from him. Now the court has summoned the couple and asked them to file a reply in court regarding Mehraj's allegations by April 1. 

Mehraj Sheikh is currently lodged in jail for attempting to extort money from various bollywood actresses. Mehraj was earlier married to Maanyata in 2003, but the man has now filed a complaint through his lawyer claiming that Maanyata has never been legally divorced from him and hence her marriage with actor Sanjay Dutt is illegal.  Sheikh's advocate told the court that Dutt and Maanyata had violated the Muslim Marriage Act, 1939 and as per its resolution, Maanyata cannot marry anybody without prior legal divorce. After hearing Sheikh's advocate's argument, Magistrate Pankaj Shah has summoned both Sanjay and Maanyata to appear before the court on April 1 and also to file a reply to the complainant's allegations.   

Earlier on Maanyata had given the name of the Quazi who had overseen the proceedings of her divorce from Mehraj. The quazi too has confirmed that he had overseen Maanyata's divorce from Mehraj. However Mehraj has claimed that the quazi is not a reliable person and has several cheating cases registered against him. Mehraj has also claimed that Maanyata was supposedly pregnant with his child at the time and hence according to Muslim law no divorce can take place when a woman is pregnant. Mehraj has also claimed that he and Maanyata also have a two and a half year old son together who lives with her mother.  

Meanwhile another man, Mohammed Ali who was also reported as being married to Maanyata recently denied ever being married to her. He claims that they were never romantically involved or married but were just good friends.
