Sanjay, Manyata declare they are unmarried

There is a new twist in Sanjay Dutt and Manyata’s wedding tale. To get out of bigamy, the couple has declared unanimously that they are not a legally married couple and so no case of bigamy should be filed against them.

Manyata is married to Sanjay without separating legally from her first husband Meraj Rehman and now Meraj had filed a case of bigamy against them. Though they are married socially but their married is not considered to be legal by the court as Manyata failed to prove her residency in Goa. Manyata and Sanjay do not carry any legally approved marriage certificate.

Since they are not husband and wife in the eyes of law, Sanjay and Manyata appealed to the court that Mehraj cannot file case of bigamy against them as they are not legally married couple and they do not carry any proof of essential ceremonies of a valid marriage. Additional Sessions Judge S N Sardesai admitted application and fixed the proceedings against them in Bandra court on Monday. The matter will be heard before the Sessions Court on April 23. Manyata cut her ties from Meraj and married Sanjay months back in Goa. She also has one child with Meraj.
