Sanjay Dutt’s production house shutting down?

Even staying in jail is not helping Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt to stay out of trouble. The actor, who is currently serving a jail term for illegal possession of arms, has left the helm of his production house ‘Sanjay Dutt Productions’ at the hands of his wife Manayata Dutt. Recently sources have claimed that the production house is going through a crisis. Apparently Manayata is facing trouble running the production house and it may even shut down. ‘Sanjay Dutt Productions’ is currently working on the film ‘Hasmukh Pighal Gaya’ which is slated to feature Sanjay Dutt himself, megastar Amitabh Bachchan and some newcomers.

A source from the industry has said that people working for the production house has been asked to leave. He said, “There is nothing happening there as of now. Some people have been asked to leave, because no major announcements will be made till the time Sanjay is in jail.” The source also mentioned that in Dutt’s absence his wife Manayata is finding it difficult to run the company. He also claimed that the film ‘Hasmukh Pighal Gaya’ which was in post-production stage is now shelved.

However, another source close to Sanjay Dutt has rubbished this claim and said that work on ‘Hasmukh Pighal Gaya’ is still on and it will be released by next year. Manayata Dutt remained unavailable for comments. In July it was reported that Big B has sung a song for the film. The song that was recorded is a remixed version of an old super hit track 'Kisiki Muskurahton Pe'. The song was originally sung by legendary singer Mukesh.  It has been remixed to suit the preferences of today’s generation. This new version of the song will feature Big B grooving to catchy beats and doing Salsa dancing with other actors from the film. Newcomer Anindita Nayar, who is playing the female lead in the film, has heavily praised Big B for his dedication and sincerity towards his work.

Sanjay Dutt is currently serving his term in Yerawada jail in Pune, Maharashtra. He was sentenced to five years imprisonment by the Supreme Court of India on 21 March 2013, for illegal possession of arms related with the infamous 1993 Mumbai blasts case. Before entering jail his last finished film was ‘PK’ with Aamir Khan and one of his favorite directors , Rajkumar Hirani with whom he delivered super hit films in the ‘Munna bhai’ franchise. Raju Hirani is also slated to produce a biopic on Sanjay Dutt.
