Sanjay Dutt upset with good pal Arshad Warsi
The Munnabhai and Circuit duo have been made famous by Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi. Everyone appreciated their comic timing and chemistry together in the film Munnabhai M.B.B.S. They will soon be seen in the sequel of the film Lage Raho Munnabhai. However recently Sanjay and Arshad were also part of the same film in Anthony Kaun Hai? But in this film Arshad played the main lead while Sanjay only had a guest appearance. Unfortunately Sanjay is upset with Arshad as recently the latter claimed that Sanjay did not promote Anthony Kaun Hai? as he was tensed about his upcoming trial in the 1993 bomb blasts. Sanjay is also upset with Arshad as even though he only had a special appearance in the film, the films promos and posters promoted him as one of the main leads.
Sanjay Dutt agreed to do the special appearance in Anthony Kaun Hai? only because of his rapport with Arshad. However according to sources “People thought Sanju did not promote the film as he’d gone into a shell because of the court’s hearing, but that wasn’t the truth. He didn’t promote the film as he was upset with Arshad and the producer. Stars who do special appearances are never supposed to promote the film. They splashed his face as one of the two leads in the posters of the film and tried to gain maximum mileage from him.” Sanjay even requested the producer not to promote the film as his film, but the producer paid no heed to Sanju’s request.
Unfortunately this act by Arshad and the producer of Anthony Kaun Hai? even soured Sanjay and producer of Lage Raho Munnabhai, Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s rapport. Producer Chopra was upset as the promos of Anthony Kaun Hai? and Lage Raho Munnabhai both featuring Sanjay and Arshad were aired around the same time. Sanjay Dutt’s secretary Kalim Khan confirms “Sanjay always had a special appearance in Anthony Kaun Hai and he was upset as they promoted it as a Sanjay Dutt film.” However Sanjay has not mentioned anything to Arshad but has decided to wisen up and not let people take him for a ride.
