Sanjay Dutt applies for parole extension again
Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has applied for parole extension second time in a row. His wife Manyata Dutt has undergone two surgeries recently and now recovering at home and the actor seeks parole extension of one month to take care of his wife. Sanjay is serving jail for 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts.
Sanjay first got month long parole extension on December 21 and before his parole ended on January 21, the actor again applied for one month more parole extension which is going to end on February 21st but Dutt has again applied for month long parole extension.
Sanjay Dutt wrote a letter to Pune's Divisional Commissioner for parole extension and in response, Pune's Divisional Commissioner has asked the Khar police station (Dutt's residence comes under its jurisdiction) to verify whether the reason cited by the actor is correct.
"He has applied for an extension. We’re studying the doctor’s report," a source from Mumbai police said.
After verification, the Khar police will respond to the Pune’s Divisional Commissioner.
Manyata has been diagnosed with heart ailment and non-malignant tumor in kidney and was admitted to Mumbai Global Hospital.
The 53-year-old actor is serving the remaining 42 months of his sentence for illegal possession of arms in Pune Yerawada jail. Dutt has already served 18 months in jail.
