Sandalwood actors Yash, Radhika get engaged

Kannada superstars Yash and Radhika Pandit got engaged on Friday, August 12 on the auspicious day of Varamalakshmi festival. It was a private ceremony held in Goa and was attended by the couple’s close friends and relatives.

Radhika’s family hails from Goa and the actress has a fondness for the place. Hence, the couple decided to hold the engagement function there.

Well-known Kannada actors like Ravichandran, Shiva Rajkumar, Rangayana Raghu, Yogaraj Bhat and filmmakers Shashank and K Manju attended the ceremony.

Yash and Radhika, one of the most loved on-screen couples of Sandalwood, have been in a steady relationship for over five years and have known each other for over a decade. Yash and Radhika first met on the sets of tele-series 'Nanda Gokula'. The couple made their film debut together with Shashank’s ‘Moggina Manasu’ in 2008, which earned them both South Filmfare Awards. It is said said that love blossomed between them while shooting for the film.

The duo also acted together in more films like ‘Drama’, ‘Mr & Mrs Ramachari’, and will be next seen together in the upcoming film ‘Santhu: Straight Forward.’ The couple wrapped up the shooting of ‘Santhu: Straight Forward’ last week and only a song sequence remains to be shot which will be filmed in Norway next month.

Radhika is likely to take a break from acting post the film being directed by Mahesh Rao, which is slated to release next year.

Earlier, there were reports that the couple will get married in December, but Yash’s mother Pushpa has denied that report and said that the wedding date was yet to be fixed. Speaking to the media on Thursday, she assured that her son’s wedding date will be announced well in advance. “"We owe a lot to the people and media and will not perform my son's wedding without informing the public well in advance," she said.
