Sameera Reddy was recently attacked by some goons, the reason being that she is supporting an orphanage. Sameera has been supporting the girl’s orphanage Dream Homes since a long time now and hence she personally takes an interest in the matters of the orphanage. For a while now the orphanage has been facing the looming threat of eviction by the landlady as there is some dispute between the two. Sameera tried to intervene and amicably solve the matter but to no avail. Recently when the landlady tried to evict the girls from the home, Sameera rushed to their rescue and hence later local goons made an attempt to attack her. The actress is now receiving police protection.
Sameera is happy that the media is highlighting the plight of the orphanage as many people have come forward and volunteered some kind of help. However Sameera is extremely disappointed and ashamed that no one from the film industry has even bothered to volunteer some kind of help for this orphanage. Sameera says “People from the middle class were willing to dig into their pockets to help these kids, but I'll be honest with you. No one from the film industry called me though I know so many of them. I feel ashamed when the electronic media asks me names of people from the industry who've come forward to help." However director Feroz Abbas Khan was one of the only people from the industry to call Sameera to offer help. So how come an industry that normally stands up for the cause of the just and fair like Sanju baba, be so apathetic to this cause.
Sameera nonetheless carries on with her support for the orphanage; she has shifted the girls from the orphanage to a friends place temporarily as recently a boy from the building also misbehaved with one of the girls. So where are all the good Samaritans in bollywood?
