Salman Khan’s ‘Kick’ reportedly delayed
Salman Khan’s fans may have to wait a little longer than expected to see the star in action again. Salman’s movie ‘Kick’ which has him paired up with Jacqueline Fernandez will most likely miss its release date on Eid this year. The main reason behind it is the delay of 40 days in shooting. Salman was heavily working to meet the deadline but it was not possible for him to give bulk date which the makers were asking. However producer Sajid Nadiadwala who is also debuting as a director in this film has denied any such report, “We are working at a good pace and we will release the film on Eid as scheduled.” ‘Kick’ is a remake of a 2009 Telugu film that shares the same name. The Hindi movie also stars Randeep Hooda, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Mithun Chakraborty.
From the beginning the movie was being delayed for some reason or the other. The movie was scheduled to be shot in various countries around the world including South Korea, Scotland and Poland. The first roadblock came when Salman was denied a working visa in UK. Shooting began with other actors while the matter with Salman was being resolved. A source from the production has shed some light on the issue of delays- “The film's shoot started late due to Salman's visa troubles in the UK; in fact, we had to shoot with Randeep Hooda and other cast members while Sallu's problems were being sorted out. Later, when we wanted bulk dates of all three actors (Salman, Randeep and Jacqueline), it did not happen as they had allotted dates to other projects. So the shoot kept getting pushed ahead. Shooting for the film is currently on at Mumbai's Mehboob studios where scenes featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui are being shot."
The recent developments in Salman’s 2002 hit and run case have also caused some problems because Salman may become unavailable if the court gives any verdict against him. Khan is very particular about releasing his films on the occasion of Eid which he considers lucky. Now it has to be seen how the star handles the situation. Reports are also coming in that Deepika Padukone who was originally offered the lead role has now been contacted for an item number. While the source has said that the star has verbally agreed, Sajid Nadiadwala has categorically denied any such report by saying “We have not locked anyone for the item number.”
