Salman Khan's 'Jai Ho' opening day box-office collection

Salman Khan’s Friday release ‘Jai Ho’ opened with a bang. The film was reported to have collected 40 crores in the opening day. It has been as big as last year release YRF’s ‘Dhoom 3’, the film had an advanced booking in many cities and it opened to a house packed morning shows. In spite of working day, in many places house full banner was seen hanging outside cinema halls.

Film trade analyst Komal Nahta posted on micro blogging site Twitter, "Salman fans, here's music for ur ears! Adv bkg at novelty, lucknow for JAI HO as good as it was for DHOOM:3". Further adding, "Exact figures: Adv booking first day of Jai Ho at Novelty Lalbagh Lucknow Rs. 290095; Dhoom:3 Rs. 232738; Chennai Express Rs. 191309".

Even trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#JaiHo morning shows open to packed houses".

According to a report published in the website Koimoi.com, in Rajasthan, U.P and parts of C.I, the film's advance bookings are better than compared to ‘Dhoom 3’ and ‘Chennai Express’.

According to a report published in the same website, Koimoi.com, Salman’s magic has been able to drag audience to the theatre but the expectation from ‘Jai Ho’ is not so high as compared to Salman’s earlier flicks ‘Ek tha Tiger’ and ‘Bodyguard’.  In cities like Delhi, Chandigarh, Kolkata and Bangalore, the craze for the film is bit low.

‘Jai Ho’ produced by Eros International and Sohail Khan’s production house is the Hindi remake of Telugu film 'Stalin' which featured Chiranjeevi in the lead. The film also features Tabu, Danny and Genelia D'Souza and Sana Khan.
