Salman Khan returned after a gap of one year, his last release was ‘Dabangg 2’ in 2012 and in 2013, the superstar did not have any release. Despite no show for a year, his fans did not welcome his film with an open arm while his contemporaries like Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan had successful releases like ‘Chennai Express and ‘Dhoom 3’ respectively in 2013.

‘Dhoom 3’ had an opening day collection of 36.22 crore, ‘Chennai Express’ fetched 33.12 crore on day one and even Salman Khan failed to break his own opening day record of his past releases, including ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ (32.93 crore), ‘Bodyguard’ (21.60 crore) and ‘Dabangg 2’ (21.10 crore).

Being a Sunday and Republic Day, ‘Jai Ho’ expected to earn good numbers on 26th January.

‘Jai Ho’ produced by Eros International and Sohail Khan’s production house is the Hindi remake of Telugu film 'Stalin' which featured Chiranjeevi in the lead. The film also features Tabu, Danny and Genelia D'Souza and Sana Khan.

Salman Khan who had five films under his credit which crossed 100 crore club, ‘Dabangg’, ‘Ready’, ‘Bodyguard’, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ and ‘Dabangg 2’ might have missed this time to make to the 100 crore club.
