Salman Khan to play double role in Barjatya's next
Bollywood duo — the Dabangg star, Salman Khan, and director, Sooraj Barjatya — come together with ‘Bade Bhaiyya’. They have earlier produced such super-hits as ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya’, ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun’ and ‘Hum Saath Sath Hain’, have reportedly come together once again after 14 years to entertain film buffs.
The story is about two brothers and Salman will act in both roles. The 48-year superstar was last seen playing in a double in David Dhawan’s ‘Judwaa’, a treat his fans wait for.
Rajshri Productions, the maker of the film, had approached Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor for leading lady opposite Khan. But sources say things did not work out with Deepika because of issues over dates.
“We are working on the dates… 99 per cent, we will decide on the leading lady in a day or two. Most likely, it is Sonam who is going to act in the film,” said a source from Rajshree Productions.
Reports say that Salman has scheduled 160 days for the film. The film is likely to go to the floors in June this year and will release around Diwali in 2015.
Sooraj is said to be working on the script. The film centers on a young royalty where the lead actress will be seen as a princess. Sources close to the director said Sonam’s traditional looks made him prefer her.
A source said, “Sooraj loved Sonam’s performance in ‘Raanjhana’ and was looking forward to work with her. Now, with Salman, the new film is going to be a great opportunity for her to reach top position in the tinsel town. Unlike in films such as Ready and Jai Ho, the heroine will have a solid, soulful character in this Salman starrer”.
A big, glitzy set is under construction at a studio and a major part of the film will be shot there.
Salman was seen as Sonam's love interest in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 'Saawariya', which saw both Sonam and Ranbir Kapoor debut in 2007.
The audience will see Sonam look gorgeous in ‘Bewakoofiyan’, her next film. The movie trailer with her in a bikini is already a hit across the media.
Sonam received praises for her roles in ‘Raanjhaana’ and ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’. And, in one of her coming films, ‘Raees’, she is supposed to be seen against Shah Rukh Khan for the first time.
Salman’s last films, ‘Jai Ho’s’ failure at the box-office made the actor think seriously about making a hit film and this just may be the one to bring his success back.
