Salman Khan takes part in 2 cr tree plantation drive of Maha govt


Bollywood superstar Salman Khan may keep getting into controversies, but he is also a front runner when it comes to social activities. The actor has extended his support to the Maharashtra government’s tree plantation drive.

On Sunday, July 10, Salman got himself all muddy and took part in the initiative of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to plant two crore trees all over Maharashtra. He took to his Twitter handle and posted several pictures from the tree plantation drive and wrote, “BMC is planing 2 crore trees all over Maharashtra.. How cool ! #TreePlantation.”

The initiative is a part of ‘Vanamahotsav 2016-17’ for environmental conservation and to curb the adverse effects of global warming and climate change.

Salman is the founder of his charitable organisation Being Human and contributes to various social causes. He is also a nature lover and enjoys planting saplings at his farmhouse in Panvel where he also breeds animals.

On the work front, Salman’s latest release ‘Sultan’ opposite Anushka Sharma is smashing records at the box-office. It has already become the highest grosser of 2016 earning over 180 crores in mere five days.
