Salman Khan steps in to help Karan Johar deal with ‘ADHM’ release
Karan Johar’s upcoming directorial ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ is in trouble with the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena objecting to Pakistani actors working in Indian films. The political party has demanded that Fawad Khan’s portions be chopped out of the final edit. MNS has also threatened that they will not allow the release of the film.
According to reports, Salman Khan has stepped in to help Karan out of this messy situation. The ‘Sultan’ actor called up MNS chief Raj Thackeray and requested him to allow the release of the Karan’s film, as well as Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Raees’, which stars Pakistani actress Mahira Khan.
"Those in the industry who are aware of Salman's call and support for Karan, are impressed by his gesture," SpotboyE quoted a source as saying. The report mentioned that Salman not only asked the MNS head to spare ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, but also Shah Rukh Khan's ‘Raees’. Notable, ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ stars Salman’s ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai.
Whether the MNS will entertain Salman's request or not is a different issue, but the actor coming out for Karan's help is something unexpected. After all, the two are not exactly on good terms.
Salman was miffed with Karan for his participation in the controversial AIB Knockout Roast, which also targeted his sister Arpita Khan. Apparently because of this, the actor also opted out of Karan’s much ambitious project ‘Shuddhi’.
