Salman Khan’s wax statue at Madame Tussauds in London

After Amitabh, Aishwarya and Shahrukh, it’s now the turn of bollywood’s bad boy, Salman Khan to have a wax statue at Madame Tussauds in London. It seems bollywood and its actors/actresses are carving a special place for themselves at the prominent Madame Tussauds. Bollywood definitely is making its presence felt on the international circuit. Just recently a few months back SRK’s wax statue was unveiled at the museum and now the museum wants to get a wax statue of Salman Khan.

It seems a formal letter is being sent to Salman Khan regarding his wax statue for Madame Tussauds and Bobby Khan who handles the gallery’s bollywood aspect has also spoken to Sallu about it. Sources claim that the wax statue of Salman Khan should be ready by January 2008 and it is believed that Salman will personally attend the inauguration of his statue at the museum in London. A source claims “Salman seems very happy about it as he is only the fourth bollywood actor to have his statue at Madame Tussauds museum in London.” A statue of Salman was decided to be done as he is extremely popular overseas and commands a huge fan following.

The formalities are still pending and will soon be completed; experts from the museum will soon come down to India to take the actor’s measurements and from there on things will proceed. However an official announcement still has to be made, also neither Salman nor Bobby Khan were available to confirm the news. Salman seems to be finally receiving his due after many years in the film industry, he recently was even honoured with a Rajiv Gandhi Award and now his wax statue will soon be unveiled at Madame Tussauds in London. One wonders though if Salman’s statue will be placed anywhere near Ash’s wax statue in the museum, though we highly doubt it.
