Salman Khan confirmed as host of ‘Bigg Boss 8’
Despite successfully hosting the last season of the popular reality show ‘Bigg Boss’, there was some doubt whether Salman Khan will return to the role this year. Salman himself did not clear the air till recently. At one point of time rumors were heard that Salman’s friend turned rival Shahrukh Khan may be seen as the host of ‘Bigg Boss’. But now all speculations have been put to rest as it has been officially confirmed that Salman Khan will return as the host of ‘Bigg Boss’ season 8.
The news was confirmed by the CEO of Colors channel, Raj Nayak. He posted on his Twitter page, "Can't wait for Season 8?#BiggBoss. Coming soon with @BeingSalmanKhan. Presented by @snapdeal. The Biggest Reality Show @colorstv #snapdeal," This is certainly good news for his fans and for the channel as well. While Salman was involved in some controversy last season after being accused of partiality towards a contestant, his presence gave the show a lot of attention. Only last month Salman said, “I have no idea. I like the format. It teaches me a lot but also takes a lot out of me. I am not too sure. Let’s see…The channel also wants you to say something and you don’t want to. It’s a lot of taam jhaam (hassle) ...a lot of stuff goes on." He even approved SRK being the host of the show. Salman said, "If not me, then I think Shahrukh Khan will be a great host for this season of 'Bigg Boss'."
Now that the host has been confirmed, everyone will now want to know who the participants are this season. As per sources, several TV actors like Tina Dutta, Arjun Bijlani, Karan Kundra, Debina Bonerji and Gaurav Chopra are in talks with the production house. A source added, "Gaurav’s ex, actor Narayani Shastri, has also been approached to participate…To add some more drama, the producers are also in talks with a Mumbai-based cross-dresser and bar dancer, Sonu.” Apart from actors, outspoken leader of the Aam Admi Party, Kumar Vishwas has also been offered the chance to take part in the show. His manager Prabudh told HT, "Yes, he has been offered the show and this is the third or fourth year that he has been approached." However nothing could be confirmed officially. The CEO of the production house, Deepak Dhar said, "As per our policy we cannot comment on market speculation."
