Salman clarifies the migration issue
Actor Salman Khan had issued a written statement to the media and the public that he and his family strongly disagree that they had made any statement regarding the migration issue. He and his family members are really upset with the media for dragging their name into such sensitive issue and urge the media to stop quoting them.
“It disturbs and pains me to see people from various walks of life reacting to this unverified quote so strongly without confirming the credibility of the quote. We ourselves being originally migrants are not in any position to support such claims”, said Salman Khan. He further clarified that his father is a migrant who lived in Madhya Pradesh and his mother comes from
Salman as well as his family members urge the media to let them live in peace and tranquillity and stop dragging their name in this issue which hardly carries any authenticity. Salman is a peace lover and he loves his country and countrymen very much. He appeals everyone not to trust this news and let them live happily. We wish you the same, Salman!
Here's a letter from Salman Khan clarifying the issue:
March 7, 08
This is to reaffirm before media and the public that me and my family have been unnecessarily dragged into the entire Migration Issue with regards to the North Indians.
The media story stating our support with regards to this issue is misrepresented and I can confirm that me and my family have not made any statement or endorsed any campaign that supports this issue.
It disturbs and pains me to see people from various walks of life reacting to this unverified quote so strongly without confirming the credibility of the quote.
We ourselves being originally migrants are not in any position to support such claims.
We are a secular nationalistic family with members from different faiths, different communities.
All of us need to rise above divisive approaches and celebrate our unity at every given opportunity,
