Salman and Ghai stood by their commitment to launch Sooraj
Salman Khan and Subhas Ghai have stood by their commitments to launch Sooraj Pancholi despite the later having an open case against him.
Subhas Ghai told in an interview that Salman and he would stand by their commitments. They would go ahead with the earlier plan of remaking the 1983 released movie ‘Hero’ casting Sooraj Pancholi in the lead.
“Suraj is not at fault and why should he be punished for it? He is a wonderful and potential actor. We had committed to him and we will stand by it. How can we go back? Salman is not the person who will go back on his words”, he said in an interview.
Subhas Ghai will meet Salman Khan next week in order to work out the project. Ghai said, “We are making a film with him (Suraj). I don't know when it will go on floors. I have to discuss it with Salman. But definitely we are making the film with Suraj.”
This news must have given parents of Sooraj Pancholi, Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, a big relief. There were plans earlier also to launch Sooraj Pancholi. After the broil of late actress Ziah Khan Suicide case, in which Sooraj was accused of abetting the late actress to suicide, things seemed to had taken an unfavorable turn.
Sooraj Pancholi will be seen with Athiya Shetty, daughter of Suneil Shetty in this movie. Even Suneil was considering launching another platform for his daughter after the case of Ziah Khan came up. However later he rejected the reports and told that he fully supported Sooraj and was happy that his daughter was getting a launch platform set by Salman himself. He said, “I never said that! I don’t, for a moment, regret the decision to launch my daughter with Suraj. Why should I? He is as much my child as Aathiya. This (the crisis post Jiah Khan’s suicide) can happen to anyone. God forbid any parent should go through what Aditya and Zarina are going through right now. And I can’t even begin to imagine Jiah’s mother’s grief. Even if my daughter gets a scratch I am inconsolable. To lose one’s child is beyond any comprehension.”
He further added, “I’ve full faith in the project. In any case it is entirely Salman Khan’s baby. He has taken over the project completely. I’ve taken the backseat as far as Aaithiya’s launch is concerned. We’re letting Salman take all the decisions on behalf of Aathiya and Suraj.”
It is reported that the remake of ‘Hero’ will go on floor by September-October.
