Saif may lose ‘Padma Shri’ due to 2012 brawl

Saif Ali Khan is in trouble. According to a latest report, the prestigious ‘Padma Award’ conferred to the actor will be taken away from him due to the spot in his clean image. If we recall back then the Nawab had entered into a brawl with NRI in February 2012 and following which the prestigious ‘Padma Award’ will be taken away from the actor.

Saif Ali Khan entered into a fight with South African based businessman and his father-in-law at a restaurant in Mumbai and following which a complaint was filed against the actor and his two friends by the NRI. Saif got physical with the businessman and cast a punch in his nose.

Due to this bolt in the actor’s image, Saif`s Padma honour might be taken back from him. An RTI activist named S C Agrawal had demanded in his complaint that the honour be taken away from Saif as the Mumbai court had framed charges against him in this case. The matter is still under examination.

Two years ago, Saif Ali Khan was involved in brawl with NRI businessman and his relative at Wasabi — a Japanese restaurant in the Taj Mahal hotel when Saif with his friends and Iqbal Sharma with his family was enjoying a dinner. Saif also got physical with Iqbal Sharma and following which the later lodged a police complaint against the Nawab. He was granted bail immediately.

Saif was accompanied by his 10 friends, including Kareena Kapoor and actor Amrita Arora. Trouble brewed when the NRI asked the actor to lower down the noise as it was disturbing them. Saif denied his request and used abusive language. Soon the situation turned worse. According to Sharma, Saif used abusive language and also hit him on his nose. Sharma added that when his father-in-law Raman Patel intervened, Saif hit him as well.

Saif and his friends surrendered at the police station and they were released on bail after the incident.
