Saif Ali Khan patches up with Ramesh Taurani
Earlier this year actor Saif Ali Khan and producer Ramesh Taurani had a big fall out. It was reported that for a new film with Taurani, Saif demanded Rs. 16 crores as fee. However Taurani did not agree and instead offered 10 crores and a percentage of the profit upon realization. The difference between the two grew so much that it was thought that Saif would be leaving the project. In February Saif said in an interview, "Yes, it's true, the price Taurani was offering me was too low." However he also added that Taurani did not ask him to drop the project and there is still chance that he would do the film.
Looks like Saif will ultimately be a part of the film that will be directed by Mohit Suri. As per recent reports, the actor and the producer have resolved their differences. A source close to Taurani’s production house Tips said, "Saif has agreed to lower his price to an extent and return to Mohit's film." The film is said to be a ‘dark love story’ was scheduled to go on floors in the middle of 2014 but now has been pushed back to March of 2015. The leading lady opposite Saif has not been finalized yet. The shooting will take place in Bangkok, Goa and Mumbai. Saif was not available for comments but one of his friends told the media, "Taurani is fulfilling all of Saif's terms and conditions." He also added, "Saif is looking forward to work with Mohit."
The spat between Saif and Taurani had also jeopardized the
fate of the ‘Race’ franchise. The first
film of the franchise ‘Race’ came out in 2008 and was successful at the box-office.
Its sequel ‘Race 2’ was released in 2013 and was a bigger success grossing 1
billion rupees domestically. Saif played key roles in both the films. The third
part ‘Race 3’ is scheduled to go to floors next year. For a while there were
serious doubts about whether Saif will be a part of the film. But due to the
latest developments, Saif ultimately may be part of the film. The source from
the production said, "Saif's character, Ranvir Singh, is the face of the
Race franchise. Saif and Taurani are too professional to let old issues come in
their way. As things stand now, Saif will definitely be a part of Race 3.
Financial disagreements do happen in the film industry".
