Rustom vs Mohenjo Daro: Hrithik & Akshay tweet about each other’s films

Two of Bollywood’s most awaited movies ‘Mohenjo Daro’ starring Hrithik Roshan and Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Rustom’ are set for a clash this Friday. While several actors like Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh and Sidharth Malhotra have been promoting Akshay’s film ‘Rustom’, Hrithik has also joined them.

In a sporting gesture, the ‘Bang Bang’ actor showed his large-heartedness by supporting ‘Rustom’ while promoting his own film ‘Mohenjo Daro’, which are releasing on the same day. He mentioned that he is promoting ‘Rustom’ for the sake of friendship with Akshay.

Hrithik took to Twitter on Monday and wrote, “#MohenjoDaro is just 4 days away. And so is #Rustom (wink) @akshaykumar #dostiKiHaiToNibhaniPadegi.”

Akshay acknowledge the friendly gesture from Hrithik and tweeted back in a witty manner, “Bas kar pagle ab rulayega kya Get ready with your popcorn guys, entertaining weekend ahead.”

In fact, Hrithik had even praised the trailer of ‘Rustom’ when it released in late June and Akshay’s wife Twinkle Khanna had responded saying she was rooting for both the movies.

“Congrats @akshaykumar . Loved the #rustom trailer. Good choices maketh d man. I'm sure u agree @mrsfunnybones :) God bless,” Hrithik has tweeted, to which the actress-turned-columnist replied, “@iHrithik want both the movies to do well and we can celebrate together my friend :).”

While ‘Rustom’ is Akshay’s third release this year after ‘Airlift’ and ‘Housefull 3’, Hrithik will be seen on the silver screen after a gap of over one year in ‘Mohenjo Daro’. His last film was the 2014 release ‘Bang Bang’.

Directed by National Award winning director Ashutosh Gowarikar, ‘Mohenjo Daro’ is an epic adventure-romance set in the pre-historic era of the Indus Valley Civilization. It features debutant Pooja Hegde, Kabir Bedi, Arunoday Singh and Manish Chaudhary among others.

On the other hand, ‘Rustom’ is based on the real life incident of Nanavati case in which Naval Commander Kawas Manekshaw Nanavati was charged with the murder of his wife’s lover Prem Ahuja and tried in court. The case led to the scrapping of the jury system in India. The film also stars Ileana D’Cruz, Esha Gupta and Arjan Bajwa.
