Riteish and Pulkit starrer ‘Bangistan’ release postponed to Aug 7

The upcoming comedy satire ‘Bangistan’ starring Riteish Deshmukh and Pulkit Samrat has postponed its release date and will now hit screens a week later on August 7. The film was earlier slated to release on July 31.

Ritesh took to Twitter to inform the change in dates. “Bangistan Now Releases On 7th August,” he posted.

Although the actor did not mention any reason for the delayed release, it is speculated that the makers decided to push it ahead due to the overwhelming response ‘Baahubali’ and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijjan’ are receiving at the box office.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on the micro-blogging site, “Due to unprecedented demand and historic collections of #BajrangiBhaijaan and #Baahubali, #Bangistan now shifted to 7 August.”

Recently, in an out-of-the-box promotional stunt, ‘Bangistan’ released a video featuring Riteish and Pulkit in the guise of Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussain respectively, in a rap-war to establish who was more dangerous.

The two actors will be now seen promoting their film on the reality show singing reality show ‘The Voice India’ keeping with the trend of promoting films on the small screen. On the show, Riteish also shared his opinion about the ban on the film in Pakistan citing its controversial content.

The actor, known for his modesty, said that the film was not anti-Pakistan in any way and one should decide the stance only after watching the film. He added that the film is anti-terrorism and not against any religion or any country.

Riteish also shares a picture of him and Pulkit visiting the show on his Twitter wall.

Directed by Karan Anshuman, the film also features Jacqueline Farnandez and Chandan Roy Sanyal.
