"I'm shooting for Happy New Year, for which my hair is dyed. I'm still in the process, and hopefully, everyone will like it," he said. For the film, Farah Khan also asked Shahrukh to grow long hairs. For the first time in his long successful career, King Khan has dyed his hair for a role. ‘Happy New Year’ demands long stresses and streak and Shahrukh obliged.
‘Happy New Year’ will see Shahrukh Khan as a bad dancer and Deepika Padukone mentoring him. The film also stars Abhishek Bachchan and Sonu Sood in the lead.
After the slap-gate incident, this is Shahrukh Khan’s first film with Farah Khan. In the past, both delivered hits like, ‘Om Shanti Om’ and ‘Happy New Year’.
Deepika will be seen in the role of a bar dancer. The film is shot during the time when bar dancers were banned and it was difficult for them to earn their living. Deepika has five other male friends who are terrible dancers and circumstances force them to take part in an international Dance competition and for which Deepika trains them for the competition.
A source said, “Deepika will play the role of an out-of-work bar dancer from Maharashtra. And her role will have significance in the lives of all the five leading men”.
The source also said, “They're shooting for a song called ‘Indiawaale' in Dubai which is basically a song that represents the country. Since the actors are participating in a dance competition with contestants from various other countries, this song will be a cheer-leader anthem for the nation. All the men will be portrayed as atrocious dancers and Deepika will help them win the dance trophy.
After completing the first
shooting schedule in Dubai, the cast and the crew returned to India.
