Recent remakes in Bollywood

Remakes have been dictating the trend of Bollywood for quite some time. Of late, it has turned out to be Salman bhai’s lucky charm. It is worth looking at some of the recently made offerings in remakes. With the success of the ongoing trend, film makers are coming forward in large number to access remake rights so that an authentic copy of the same can be delivered. Understandably, audience’s acceptance of the same is enhancing the success rate of such pot boiling extravaganzas.

Featuring John Abraham in the stellar role, Force draws its inspiration from the Tamil action entertainer ‘Kaakha Kaakha’. John Abraham with his strength of masculinity carries out his role to perfection, but the film with its measured blend of spicy ingredients has nothing new to offer.

The action packed entertainer with its streaks of violence and delineation of heroism in all its greatness easily unfolds its close connectivity to the South Indian original. Portraying Ajay Devgan in the heroic mould, the film fares well enough with its doses of punch, power, emotional displays and love interest. Though the love interest featuring Ajay & the debutante Kajol Agarwal fails to appeal, Ajay’s single handed display of courage is good enough to have it going.

3. Ready

Featuring Salman Khan and Genelia D’Souza; “Ready’ happens to be a remake of a Telegu flick by the same name. Incidentally, the petite Genelia had her part to play in both the version of the film. With its innovative storyline and gimmick prone hero; “Ready” directed by Anees Bazmee does not fail to entertain. In fact, it has loads to offer in terms of entertainment, guffaws and fun filled excitement.

4. Bodyguard
Bodyguard

Following the storyline of a Malayalam entertainer, Bodyguard featuring Salman & Kareena; fits into the category of a spicy potboiler. With the hackneyed blend of violence, courage and love triangle; Bodyguard had its ingredients well thrashed out to suit the box-office trend

2006 released Tamil flick- ‘Pokkiri’ inspired the B town remake of “Wanted”. Fitting Salman Khan in the role of a gangster; the film offers its own share of violence, love tangle and shootout. Besides Salman Khan, its star cast included Mahesh Manjrekar and Ayesha Takia. With Mahesh playing the role of a cop and bicep flaunting Sallu mia in that of a gangster; audience is treated to whooping scenes of battles.
