Real reason why Katrina, Sidharth were offloaded from flight in Delhi

Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra’s promotional tour for their upcoming film ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ at the Delhi Airport created a lot of chaos. The actors were reportedly offloaded from an Air India plane for delaying their boarding and indulging in promotions of the upcoming film. But it turns out that Katrina and Sidharth were not actually deplaned, but simply shown ‘offloaded’.

This is what actually happened, according to a report in The Times of India. After arriving from Chandigarh, Katrina and Sidharth were scheduled for a promotional activity at Delhi Duty Free in the international terminal. To falicitate their entry, the actors were issued tickets for Air India flight number AI 317.

However, the CISF personnel at the airport were not informed about the pre-scheduled promotional event. So, when Katrina and Sidharth were leaving the terminal, the CISF personnel stopped them and asked why they didn’t board the flight.

“If any passenger wants to move out without boarding a flight, she/he has to be shown as having been 'offloaded by the airline'. The actors were told that they had to contact the airline and wait for an airline official to come and complete the formalities. And that is actually why they were shown as 'offloaded by the airline',” a source told the leading daily.

While all this was happening at the terminal, the flight for which Sidharth and Katrina were issued tickets was delayed by over 50 minutes and as per sources, that irked the passengers waiting in the aircraft.

When contacted, the team travelling with the actors said that Delhi Duty Free didn't inform CISF at the airport about their visit and that was what caused all the confusion.

Directed by Nitya Mehra, ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ is set to hit the screens on September 9.
