Ranvir Shorey kicked out of ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7’
After host and TV actress Drashti Dhami was asked to leave dance celebrity show, ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 7’, her co-host and Bollywood actor Ranvir Shorey was also axed from the show. it is heard that VJ Andy might replace him. Drashti was replaced by Manish Paul.
An insider says, "Discussions are on at the channel. The makers were not getting the desired results from Ranvir and Drashti in comparison to last seasons’ hosts, Manish Paul and Kapil Sharma. But their decision to let Drashti go was surprising as it was Ranvir who was getting more flak on social networking sites."
Andy was also part of the show; he was one of the contestants of the seventh season but was eliminated on the first elimination day. "Andy’s name is being speculated since he has a long association with the channel. Though he was part of the same celebrity dance reality and was voted out recently, he might be a good option".
Manish Paul and Kapil Sharma hosted the last season of ‘Jhalak...’ and was highly liked but Drashti and Ranvir’s so far record card is not promising and so Colors have decided to replace them with two suitable hosts.
Drashti won million hearts with the soap, ‘Madhubala’ and she was also the winner of the sixth season of ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ but as a host she failed to impress.
Drashti herself informed the news to her fans and well wishers on twitter, she twitted, “Tweepies – my journey at Jhalak comes to an end. Thank u all for ur love & support
— Drashti Dhami (@drashti10) June 20, 2014.
Drashti’s ardent fans seem not to happy with the channels decision and they expressed their dissatisfaction over the channels decision on twitter by tweeting in favor of the actress. Drashti has been hosting the show along with her actor Ranvir Shorey. The show kick-starts on June 7. Colors channel called her up and informed their decision.
A crewmember says, “Drashti was roped in because she won the last season and we wanted to add some glamour to the show. However, since the first episode went on air, we have been receiving negative reactions about her. Somehow her pairing with Ranvir Shorey did not work. Therefore, we decided to consult the channel and replace her.”
The actress has hosted only six episodes so far but she didn't show any improvement over time. A source says, “The creative team would suggest changes to her, but in all her episodes audiences found her to be not spontaneous. She’d just read lines from the teleprompter. Her chemistry with co-host Ranvir was zilch; plus, she’d take her own time to get ready. As a result, the shoot would get delayed and Ranvir would complain about the same. For now, we have decided to replace Drashti with previous season’s host, Manish Paul.”
