Ranveer Singh back in ‘Padmavati’, thanks to Deepika

All is well between Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Putting a stop to all the rumours of a fall-out between the duo, Ranveer caught up with Bhansali, after he returned from his Switzerland vacation.

The ‘Bajirao Mastani’ actor was spotted outside Bhansali’s Juhu office last weekend on August 20. Ranveer and Bhansali seem to have sorted out their differences, and the actor is very much a part of the filmmaker’s upcoming project ‘Padmavati’.

It is said that Deepika Padukone who will play the titular role of Rani Padmavati in the film, played a role in the reconciliation and made sure that the two have a healthy discussion and iron out their differences.

Trouble started when Bhansali roped in Shahid Kapoor for the role of ‘Padmavati’s husband Raja Rawal Ratan Singh. Shahid apparently agreed once his role was well-defined and on equal footing with the character of Alauddin Khilji to be played by Ranveer.

This made Ranveer ask for a narration from Bhansali with whom he has already worked in two films - ‘Goliyon Ki Rasleela - Ram Leela’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’- and trusted him blindly. Reportedly, this upset the filmmaker and there were rumours of Bhansali considering other A-listers like Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan to replace his original choice.

But now, everything is back on track after Bhansali decided to give Ranveer a joint narration with Shahid, just like he got one for ‘Gunday’ with Arjun Kapoor. Ranveer has already begun preparations for the role and is growing a beard.

‘Padmavati’ is a period drama that revolves around the obsession of Sultan Alauddin Khilji for Rani Padmavati of Mewar who was known for her intellect and beauty. The movie will go on floors in September and will release in December next year.
