Ranveer replaces Aamir in Anurag Kashyap’s next

The new actor Ranveer Singh replaces Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan in Anurag Kashyap’s next. After waiting for almost three years for Aamir, Anurag shifted his choice from Aamir to Ranveer. The movie is a trilogy on erstwhile Mumbai titled, ‘Bombay Velvet’. The film is set in 1960.

For the first time in his short period of acting time, Ranveer will get the chance to step into the real life character. The role requires Ranveer to prepare a lot. Says the source, "Bombay Velvet will only start in June 2012. That's how much time Ranveer needs to prepare for his character. Stepping into Aamir Khan's territory is a huge responsibility for Ranveer. He is certainly not taking it lightly."

However, a source confirmed that Aamir was never approached for the film, "Bombay Velvet was never offered to Aamir. Anurag had a trilogy of  'Bombay' films in mind. Out of these he had offered John Abraham Bombay Velvet. Aamir had been offered another part of the trilogy", informs a source.
