'Ranjhanaa' Dhanush to work with Big B in Balki's next

Amitabh Bachchan is all set to work with a new set of stars. Early next year he will be seen working with Dhanush and Akshara Hassan in R Balki’s project.

Though Balki did not speak about his project, Big B talked about it on his blog. He wrote, “…and later of course to get on with the produce of film and TV serial ... films with Balki, and Bhootnath Returns, and Shoojit’s film and Vinod Chopra’s serial (sic).”

For this project, Shahrukh’s name was also rumored. But later Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush were finalized. “The movie is likely to hit the floor early next year and release towards the end of 2014”, says a source close to the film.

Dhanush made his Bollywood debut with ‘Raanjhanaa’ which was released this year itself. The movie was hit at the box office. Dhanush’s original name is Venkatesh Prabhu Kasthuri Raja. He was born in Chennai in 1982. He is a renowned actor of South India. He rose to International fame after his album ‘Kolaveri Di’ was widely acclaimed. Dhanush is married to Aishwarya, who is Rajinikanth’s daughter. Balki’s project will be Dhanush’s second movie in Bollywood.

Akshara Hassan is the younger daughter of Kamal Hassan and Sarika. She is sister of actress Shruti Hassan. Akshara entered the cinema world from behind the camera. She assisted her father in ‘Vishwaroopam’. She learnt film making before facing the camera. Last year she was approached by noted film maker Maniratnam for acting in a lead role. Akshara turned down his offer. This shocked the film fraternity. Talking about this news, Kamal Hassan had said, “I have no idea why Akshara turned down Maniratnam's offer. I have never imposed any restictions and my daughter are always free to do whatever they want. It's up to her to decide her future. I guess, Akshara might follow me - starting from behind the camera and then facing the camera later on.”

R Balki has directed just two movies in Hindi. But both of them were critically acclaimed for its story, subject and direction. The two movies are ‘Paa’ and ‘Cheeni Kum’. In his both movies, the lead cast was Big B. He is continuing with this trend and has again roped in Mr. Bachchan for his untitled movie. The music of his upcoming project will be given by Ilayaraja who had earlier given music for ‘Paa’ and ‘Cheeni Kum’.
