Rani Mukherjee protected by bodyguards from media frenzy while shooting in Varan
Rani Mukherjee and Konkana Sen Sharma were shooting in Varanasi for Yash Raj’s upcoming film directed by Pradeep Sarkar. The film also stars Jaya Bachchan and son Abhishek Bachchan and shooting for the film has already begun. Rani and Konkana were shooting on the banks of a river in Varanasi and everything was going fine until pack up time. After their shooting was over, Rani and Konkana were barged upon by the media and Rani’s bodyguards had to intervene to control the media frenzy.
Rani was shooting a dance sequence at Mirghat near the banks of the Ganga River and several on-lookers too had gathered at the venue. However after the shoot got over, media persons wanted to take pictures and get sound bytes from Rani and this is the reason the journalists barged upon the two actresses. However Rani’s bodyguards tried to intervene and what followed was a minor scuffle. A scuffle ensued between the bodyguards and the media persons and a few media persons were injured and a camera too was damaged. Later the police arrived at the site and took control of the situation and the public too were shooed away from the venue.
However after things had calmed down, Rani and Konkana agreed to talk to the press. Rani said “We are here to film, give photographs and even interviews, so there is no need to push and jostle us around, as we are likely to get hurt. Such kind of things should be avoided.” The film schedule will continue and the film will be shot in Varanasi over the next few days. Rani will soon be seen in Ravi Chopra’s Baabul and recently at an event held by Ravi Chopra all the actors in the film including Amitabh, Hema Malini, Salman Khan, John Abraham and even Rani walked the ramp in different designer’s creations. Rani walked the ramp in Sabyasachi’s creations sparking rumours of her fall-out with long time designer and friend Manish Malhotra. Rani has also completed Tara Rum Pum, a Yash Raj film with co-star Saif Ali Khan.
