Rani Mukherjee arrives at Madhuri Dixit ‘s residence


Madhuri Dixit’s father Shankar R Dixit passed away on Friday morning and Bollywood celebrities offered condolence on the demise of Madhuri’s father. He was 91. Rani Mukherjee who shares a great rapport with Madhuri stepped in to offer her last respect to the departed soul.

Dressed in white, Rani was snapped entering her car. Madhuri’s contemporary Sridevi also expressed her condolence on twitter, “Shocked to hear about your father. My condolences to the entire family. RIP Shri Dixit," Sridevi tweeted.

Shankar Dixit was keeping unwell for quite sometime and was staying with Madhuri. His family was by his side when he breathed his last. Madhuri said "We'll miss him but we know he lived a full life. We thank all those who have offered their condolences and prayers."

Last year, Madhuri Dixit returned with her husband and two children to settle down in India. She said that she is back to India for her parents as her father is not keeping well. Madhuri Dixit is currently judging the dance show, ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’. Due to her father’s ill healh, the channel has made all the arrangements to release the diva from the show and they have also made alternative arrangements to fill up Madhuri’s place. Priyanka Chopra has been finalized to replace Madhuri and they have also planned to give a tribute to Mads by performing to a medley of her popular numbers.

However, the makers shot the episode with Madhuri as she was present on Thursday shoot.

A source from the show informs, "We were to shoot today also, but it has been called off keeping in mind Madhuri's loss. Half the portion of the finale episode has already been shot and Madhuri may not be there to shoot for the remaining half."
