Rani Finally Opens-up to the Media
Rani Mukherjee, the officially now Mrs. Rani Chopra is due to hit the silver screen with her much awaited and looked forward to film ‘Mardaani’.
Rani plays a cop in the film, much like the female version of our beloved ‘Chulbul Pandey’. However, in real life, she is as kind-hearted and down-to-earth, as determined and strong as she has been depicted in the reel scenario of the movie. ‘Mardaani’ is a Hindi crime drama film directed by Pradeep Sarkar and produced by her hubby Aditya Chopra. The film features Rani in the lead role, and tells the story of a female cop whose interest in the case of a kidnapped teenage girl leads her to uncover secrets of human trafficking by the Indian mafia. The movie is scheduled to release on 22 August 2014.
During her first media interaction since marrying Aditya Chopra, Rani seems excited. One reason is, of course, her recent marriage, and the other is her movie. “You had been saying that I had got married since long before I actually did. And before I become a mother you will be saying that I have already given birth…” she jests, adding that she definitely wants to become a mother.
“Marriage has not changed anything. I started working at the age of 17 and I can’t stop working now. And I don’t think Adi will want me to slow down. If I am pregnant, and if at all any director is willing to work with me in that condition, I will definitely work till the day I can work. But if I have kids I will certainly take a break. I don’t want to deprive my kids the time they need”, the 36-year-old actress added.
Also, the actress says that she does not want her director-producer husband to direct her ever as she cannot take his orders. "I think I would be happy playing the role of a wife for him. So, I can tell him what to do and would not like to take his orders. It's better I work with him as a director (at home)."
On being probed about her love-life with Aditya, she shyly added, "Though it is a little personal to talk about it. I think nobody can write such beautiful love stories if he doesn't believe in it and he himself isn't like that in real life.I am happy to have found a man who is compassionate, kind and a good human being. I look upto him and respect him as a person."
Well, we wish Rani and Adi, both a happy married life and definitely a bombastic release!
