Ranbir-Katrina starrer ‘Jagga Jasoos’ to release on Apr 7, 2017

Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif’s much delayed film has got a release date. The comedy-drama about a detective will release on April 7 next year, Disney Films India announced on Monday.

“Here we go: Disney's #JaggaJasoos releases on 7th April, 2017! Directed by @basuanurag, *ing Ranbir Kapoor & Katrina Kaif, music by Pritam!,” read a tweet by the production company. “Stay tuned for more on Disney's #JaggaJasoos right here! #7thApril2017#RanbirKapoor #KatrinaKaif @basuanurag @ipritamofficial,” read another post.

Directed by Anurag Basu, the movie was in the making since a long time. It was originally slated to release in June last year, but it was plagued by delays due to various reasons and certain scenes had to be re-shot. Causing further delay was the differences between the lead actors who broke-up before the shooting completed.

Ever since Ranbir and Katrina parted ways earlier this year, the duo has been giving a tough time to the makers leading to alterations of scenes and locations in the film. All these made the release dates to be postponed so many times that it was thought that the movie might get shelved.

Jagga Jasoos’ is the debut venture of Ranbir and Anurag’s production house Picture Shuru Productions. Siddharth Roy Kapur of Disney India has co-produced the film.

“Jagga Jasoos will release exactly a year after the Studio’s hugely successful The Jungle Book (Disney’s The Jungle Book released on April 8th, 2016) and Jagga Jasoos promises to be the Disney summer spectacle for 2017!” Disney said in a statement.
