Ranbir Kapoor and Honey Singh, new friends in B-town

Ranbir Kapoor, known to be a private person, has found a friend in Honey Singh. They met on the sets of Abhinav Kashyap’s ‘Besharam’ at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium ground in Delhi.

Honey Singh was present to discuss the various songs that he would be crooning for Ranbir Kapoor, and within 15 mins, they gelled with each other. A member from the unit who overheard their conversation said that two became friends very quickly and were heard discussing automobiles and ladies. They spent almost 4 hours with each other, and parted only when Honey Singh had to leave to catch a flight to Dubai.

When asked about the budding friendship, Honey Singh was heard saying, “News travels fast! Yes, I`ve formed the most incredible friendship with Ranbir. I had gone to discuss our song for Abhinav`s film... We discovered many common interests. To be honest, I`ve been working closely with other Bollywood stars. I am a very open-hearted guy. But I find Bollywood`s actor to be extremely cagey. I am typical North Indian. They don`t open up that easily. With Ranbir, within minutes we were sharing confidential secrets. Obviously I am not going to tell you what we spoke about. Ranbir and I own the same car with the same number (Audi RB Number 8). We share a lot of common interests. In fact, I am taking him partying in Delhi next week. To be honest before meeting Ranbir, I was wary of star-kids. I find they get everything too easily. But Ranbir is who he is not because of his family but his own talent and good nature. He`s self-made, like me.”

Both being super chilled out and young, it was only natural for the two to click. They both love fast cars, and it won’t come as a surprise if the two are caught catching up in the lanes of Bandra. This seems like a bond that is here to last beyond their professional interactions.

Honey Singh revealed that not only are they working on various songs, but he also plans to make Ranbir Kapoor sing one of his compositions.

Ranbir Kapoor’s last outing, Anurag Basu’s ‘Barfi’ won him critical acclaim. He gave an exceptional performance in the film and won several accolades for the same. His upcoming release is Ayan Mukherjee’s ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ with Deepika Padukone. He is also looking forward to Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bombay Velvet’ with Anushka Sharma.
