Ranbir claims that he can never replace Shahrukh Khan

There have been many stories after the release of Saawariya, about the two main leads next films. While Sonam will be doing Rakeysh Mehra’s film Dilli 6 opposite Abhishek Bachchan, Ranbir too has received lucrative offers. Ranbir will be doing a Yash Raj film, but there were also rumours that he has replaced SRK in Rajkumar Hirani’s film. However Ranbir as well as Rajkumar Hirani deny these rumours claiming that he will not be doing the film.
Earlier SRK was supposed to do Hirani’s film which is based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel Five point Somone. However due to some personal differences with producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Shahrukh opted out of the film. It was the n said that Ranbir Kapoor has replaced SRK in the film. However Ranbir denies these rumours saying “Forget about replacing Shah Rukh Khan, I can't do that in this lifetime. I haven't even met Mr Hirani. So I don't know who started this rumour, or where it's coming from.” However Ranbir claimed that he would love to work with the Munnabhai director if he ever received an offer. However director Rajkumar Hirani was quite surprised that Ranbir had claimed that he had not met him at all. The director admitted that he and Ranbir had met n two occasions, once at the Saawariya premier and once Ranbir had come to meet him at his office. However Hirani said “My film needs an older actor because it shows two time spans. Let me make this clear once and for all, I have not signed anybody yet for the film.”

Hirani is however all praise for Ranbir’s performance in Saawariya; he says “I think Ranbir is a fine actor. I am sure he will do well for himself.” Hirani is not in hurry to start his film and wants to first work out the script and cast well, before starting the film. Hirani also confirms that Sanjay Dutt has asked him to do a film for his home production but right now it is too early to talk about anything. Meanwhile Ranbir Kapoor is getting ready to romance four heroines, Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone and Minnisha Lamba onscreen for his Yash Raj film.
