Rakesh Roshan on Hrithik-Kangana row: The truth will shock everyone

Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut were embroiled in an ugly controversy after the ‘Queen’ actress called the former her “silly ex” in an interview, earlier this year.

Commenting on the matter, Hrithik’s father Rakesh Roshan has said that if his son chooses to come out with the truth, it will shock everyone.

Actor-turned-filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, who recently announced the fourth instalment of the hit superhero franchise ‘Krrish’ was speaking in an interview to Hindustan Times.

"Hrithik is different. Even when someone [Kangana] was spreading lies about him, he chose to stay calm and dignified. If he does choose to come out with the truth, it will shock everyone," Rakesh Roshan told the daily.

He further said that the ‘Bang Bang’ actor didn’t speak about it yet as he was busy with his upcoming movie. “Once he gets free, he might speak about it. It is his choice," the ‘Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai’ director said.

Hrithik, who was last seen in Ashutosh Gowariker’s epic film ‘Mohenjo Daro’ after a gap of over one year, will be next seen in his father’s production ‘Kaabil’ opposite Yami Gautam. The movie directed by Sanjay Gupta and will release on January 26 next year and clash with Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Raees’.

It was reported that Shah Rukh and the ‘Kaabil’ producer held meetings to avert the clash, but Rakesh Roshan was not willing to shift the release date of ‘Kaabil’.

Speaking about it, the director said, “I had announced my film in February last year. A sudden announcement about the release of another movie is a little unethical. However, I can’t stop any film from releasing on the same day.”

“We have met a couple of times. I have told him that nobody is going to gain [anything] out of this clash. I have also explained to him that I can’t shift my film’s release date, as I am a little superstitious. I would have changed the date had I not announced the film. I don’t have an ego,” the filmmaker added.
