Rajinikanth’s ‘Kabali’ themed plane to take-off with film’s release
The Rajinikanth mania has hit the skies, literally! Malaysia-based airline Air Asia has dedicated a special aircraft to the Tamil superstar’s upcoming flick ‘Kabali’. In partnership with the film, the carrier has prepared a plane painted along the theme of the much-awaited gangster film.
The exterior of the plane bears the image of Rajinikanth in his character of the don in ‘Kabali’, including his name and the film’s name as well. The special aircraft will take off to coincide with the release of the film and will be flying across the AirAsia India network of destinations spanning Bengaluru, New Delhi, Goa, Pune, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Guwahati, Imphal, Vizag and Kochi.
Air Asia, which is an official airline partner of ‘Kabali’ has planned a special flight from Bangaluru to Chennai to enable Thalaivar fans to watch the first show of ‘Kabali’ when it releases. The carrier has launched a social media contest for fans to post their ‘Kabali’ style video on the official Facebook page and Twitter handle of AirAsia India. The top 10 winners will get to watch the first show of Kabali on the day of release. Three other winners will stand a chance to fly to the locations where the movie was shot in Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok.
Talking about the excitement surrounding Kabali, Amar Abrol, CEO, AirAsia India said, “The Kabali fever is getting hotter by the day with fans across the world riding in the Rajini wave! This special plane, powered by Thalaivar quite literally, is dedicated to Rajini fans across the globe! This is AirAsia’s way of paying a tribute to the one and only superstar in the country.”
Directed by Pa Ranjith, ‘Kabali’ stars Radhika Apte as the leading lady. The movie is scheduled to release on July 15, although reports suggest this may be pushed to July 22.
