Irrfan Khan accuses Rajinikanth of "stealing" 'Madaari' poster

Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan has accused the team of south superstar Rajinikanth’s film ‘Kabali’ of stealing the poster of his upcoming film ‘Madaari’. However, the ‘Jazbaa’ actor said it wasn’t a big deal and urged fans to watch both the films.

During a promotional event of ‘Madaari’ Irrfan said, “We are small filmmakers, I saw that Rajinikanthji's film stole the poster of our film. You see his film's poster and see our film's poster. No big deal about it. Watch his film and watch our film, too."

Both the posters have the faces of the respective film’s lead actors emerging out of a vertically positioned cityscape and the film’s title too written vertically.

However, it is said that the poster of ‘Kabil’ is a fan-made and not the movie’s original one. In fact, loyal fans of Rajinikanth have clarified about the similarities on a website. There are many more such fan-made posters that have been doing the rounds on social media. ‘Madaari’ poster, on the other hand is the official poster of the film.

‘Madari’ is a social-thriller written and directed by Nishikanth Kamat. Besides Irrfan Khan, it also stars Vishesh Bansal, Jimmy Shergill, Nitesh Pandey among others. On the other hand, ‘Kabali’ is a gangster flick written and directed by Pa Ranjith. Rajinikanth plays the role of an ageing don who runs a school for the children affected by gang wars.

Both ‘Madaari’ and ‘Kabali’ are gearing up for release on July 15 and are set to clash. ‘Kabali’ is likely to be released in four languages – Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam.
