Rajinikanth to be in the US for health reasons during ‘Kabali’ release
The release of a Rajinikanth film is like a festival for his fans, who go all out doing ‘milk abhishek’ of the actor’s cut-outs, distribute sweets and celebrate with fireworks. The release date of the highly-anticipated Tamil film is nearing, but Rajinikanth, who plays the lead role of a don in the film, might not be present in India for the release.
The 65-year-old actor has not been keeping well for some time and is currently in the US. He was expected to return in the first week of July, but the journey got postponed. He will now be back only by the end of this month, according to a report in India Today.
The superstar’s brother Sathyanarayana Rao has, however, rubbished the speculations surrounding his health and has assured that Rakinikanth has gone for his usual medical check-up and there is nothing to worry.
Meanwhile, ‘Kabali’ is likely to hit screens on July 22, though there is no official confirmation yet. A copy of the film has been reportedly sent to censor board on Friday (July 8) for certification.
Directed by Pa Ranjit and produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu, ‘Kabali’ features Rajinikanth in the role of an ageing don who runs a school for the children affected by gang wars. The film also stars Radhika Apte, Dhansika, Attakathi Dinesh and Kalaiarasan in pivotal roles.
