Radhika Apte: Filming the lovemaking scene in ‘Parched’ was hilarious

Actress Radhika Apte has said that shooting for the much-talked lovemaking scene with co-star Adil Hussain in her acclaimed film ‘Parched’, was a laugh riot and one of her most memorable scenes ever.

During a press conference Radhika shared her experience of filming the steamy scene and said it was a ‘hilarious’ affair. She revealed that the biggest challenge on the set was to find a sock to cover Adil’s modesty.

"We kept cracking up all through. Your body is the last thing you are conscious about when shooting a sex scene. It was inside a cave and had we not found the sock, the shooting would have been delayed. The unit thought an erotic dance sequence was being shot," the actress was quoted as saying.

Radhika said that it was one of the funniest scenes she had ever done, and the dirty talk that preceded the filming made it funnier. "Adil even blurted out, 'I am sorry if I get a hard-on and I am sorry if I don't'," she said, unable to control her giggle.

The film's director, Linaa Yadav, along with choreographer Ashley Lobo executed the scene, Radhika added.

The sex scene had created a controversy after it was leaked and went viral immediately. It was also sold as porn before the film’s release last month.

Talking about the controversy, the actress said, "Those who were raising eyebrows and rolling eyes would have never got the humour in this. People look at things as black and white. Unfortunately, everyone saw it from a unilinear perspective. They were either angry or sympathetic.”

“Ask us, we have laughed throughout. It will be the most memorable scene ever for the amount we have laughed and for what we take away from it. I have been criticised and praised equally, but films are a learning process and that scene will be a milestone," she added.
