Purab Kohli to appear in ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7’
Model, video jockey and actor Purab Kohli is likely to take part in the current season of the popular television dance show ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’.
The actor who was seen in the film ‘Jal’ is likely to be one of the contestants of the reality show, which has celebrities trying to master their dancing qualities.
According to an entertainment portal, the 35-year-old actor is said to have agreed to the channel Colors show recently. The actor was not available for a comment, but sources close to him confirmed the news saying that the actor signed the agreement with the channel earlier this week.
Besides Kohli, celebrities such as Shobhaa De, Jeeva Singh, Atif Aslam, Daksha Sheth and Yuvraj Singh’s names are also doing rounds as participants of the show.
A recent buzz was that singer Yo Yo Honey Singh was in talks to be featured on the show as well.
Small-screen actor Karan Tacker of ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ fame and former ‘Bigg Boss 7’ contestant VJ Andy participating in ‘JDJ 7’ have also been reported recently.
The celebrity trio — Madhuri Dixit, Karan Johar and Remo D'Souza — who had been the judges during the previous season are likely to return in this edition of the show as well.
The buzz is that earlier hosts Manish Paul and Kapil Sharma may not return to the show since the two are at the moment tied up with their respective Bollywood careers and there is very little chance that they would take up their roles as the hosts once again.
While Manish reportedly left ‘Mad in India’, because of a number of film offers, Kapil at the same time is tied up with his hit comedy show ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ and also shooting of his debut film ‘Bank Chor’ under YRF.
‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ is a television reality show, where celebrities perform various dances together with professional dance partners. The concept of the show is taken from the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ show on BBC One in the UK. The show is pre-recorded, unlike its UK version.
Purab began his career as an actor with the television show ‘Hip Hip Hurray’ on Zee TVand received recognition video jockeying on Channel V.
He made his acting debut with ‘Bus Yuhin’ starring opposite Nandita Das and also acted in films like ‘Supari’ in 2003, ‘Vastu Shastra’ in 2004, and ‘13th Floor’ in 2005, ‘My Brother…Nikhil’ in 2005 and so on.
