Priyanka’s new song in third spot on Itunes India

Actor turned singer Priyanka Chopra seems to be having a great time. Priyanka, reportedly, is out with her third solo single ‘I can’t make you love me’, which made it to the number 3 spot on Itunes India in less than 24 hours.

After the overwhelming success of the songs ‘In My City’ featuring Will.I.Am and ‘Exotic’ featuring Pitbull, Priyanka has hit success once more with her third song ‘I Can’t Make You Love Me’. It is a unique cover of the Bonnie Raitt’s 1991 song that made it to Rolling Stone Magazine’s 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

“My cover of ‘I can’t make you love me’ is really different because the original is a ballad and we have used dance music for my version of the song. Watch out for the video,” Priyanka, who launched the new song on Tuesday, reportedly said in a statement.

Her version of the ballad is ready to make a mark on the international music scene.

Priyanka, after winning Miss India World title started getting offers in films. She made her screen debut in the 2002 Tamil film ‘Thamizhan’ as the love interest of the protagonist, played by Vijay.

In 2003, Priyanka made her Bollywood film debut as the second female lead opposite Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta in Anil Sharma’s ‘The Hero: Love Story of a Spy’.

In Priyanka’s music career, the major influence was her father, who she said was ‘an incredible singer’, and helped her to develop her interest in singing. Her first recording, the song ‘Ullathai Killadhe’ in the 2002 Tamil film ‘Thamizhan’ was made at the request of her director and co-star, Vijay, who had noticed her, singing on the sets.

In August 2011, Universal Music Group signed Priyanka for a worldwide recording agreement with DesiHits and Troy Carter, CEO of Atom Factory, which also manages Lady Gaga, was signed by the artiste to manage her music career.

While in October, 2012, the single ‘In My City’ won her the Best International Debut award at the People’s Choice Awards India, in December 2012, she received three nominations, Best Female Artist, Best Song and Best Video for the single at the World Music Awards. She also received the Trailblazer Award from the South Asian Media, Marketing and Entertainment Association for becoming the first Bollywood actress to get a major record deal in the US.
