Priyanka’s brother Siddharth booked for serving hookah


Priyanka Chopra’s brother Siddharth Chopra, who is the owner of The Mugshot Lounge located inside the Jewel Square Mall in Koregaon Park area of Pune, was booked for serving hookah at his hotel. It came into forefront when crime branch carried a sudden raid at the hotel. The crime branch of city police has lodged an offence against Siddharth Ashok Chopra of Versova in Mumbai.

"We have booked the owner of The Mug Shot Lounge, Siddharth Chopra (26) and the manager of the restaurant, Prakash Chaudhary (24) under the relevant sections of Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act," said DCP (crime) P R Patil.

The crime branch seized hookah apparatus and flavoured tobacco, an officer said today. "Acting on a tip-off, the team raided the premises and seized 16 hookah apparatus and flavoured tobacco," he said.

Chopra was booked by police along with his hotel manager Prakash Tulcharam Choudhary (24), resident of Yeshwant Vihar, Katraj-Kondhwa Road, under sections of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition Of advertisement And Regulation Of Trade And Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Act, 2003.

Police inspector Rajendra Kadam of the crime branch said that they came to know that some high-class society people have been indulging in tobacco mixed products with hookah at The Mugshot Lounge.

On Wednesday night a crime branch team raided the lounge and seized tobacco mixed products worth Rs 26,000 that were served with hookah. On Thursday, a press release issued by the Pune city police stated that possession and sale of these tobacco mixed products is unlawful.
