Priyanka, Ranbir, Hrithik in the race of 'Bigg Boss 8' hosting

It is needless to mention that the reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ is a huge hit with the Indian television viewers. The unique format of the game brings out the true characters of the contestants that have contributed to the popularity of the program. The other big factor influencing a high TRP is the charismatic anchor of the show. Salman Khan has been doing the anchoring for the past three seasons of ‘Bigg Boss’ and did a great job. The witty and spontaneous anchoring by Salman made the show interesting and kept the viewers glued to the screen.

Controversies and hostilities have always been part and parcel of the show but they gained new heights in the last season. So much so that they even engulfed the host, Salman Khan. An irritated Salman dropped the hint in the closing episodes of the ‘Bigg Boss’, season seven that he will not be returning back again to host the show. This started a frenzy of speculation about who can replace Salman as anchor in the show. Other than the fat check for hosting the program, the job is certainly to give a much needed image boost to the host as well.

The producers of the show are in the look out to fill up the critical role. It is heard that the plan is to do a change over for the program and to get a young Bollywood actor on board who can easily relate to the youths. There are many such bright candidates in tinsel town, but the names rumored to be most seriously considered for the post are Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. If Priyanka is chosen then she will be the first female anchor of the ‘Bigg Boss’ show.

However, it seems that Ranbir Kapoor is the favored candidate at the moment as a close source of the production team states that, "Salman has his own impeccable style that audiences have grown to like. But Ranbir has a tremendous fan following and youngsters love him. He has hosted a couple of award shows earlier and if he hosts this show, it will get a makeover of sorts."

It will be interesting to see who takes up the show anchor’s role as the competition heats up. May the best man or woman wins. But Salman Khan will be missed sorely.
