Priyanka Chopra pledges to donate organs

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has taken a bold decision. She pledges to donate her organs in case she dies of brain death. She declared her decision of donating her organs during a function organized by the Army Organ Retrieval and Transplantation Authority (AORTA).

Speaking on the occasion, Priyanka said, "I am proud to be a child of an army officer and happy that the armed forces are doing so well in the field of organ donations. I know the value of organ donation as my father at one point was deeply in need of one. As conscious individuals we should all pledge to donate our organs.”

Former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu also attended the function and he too vowed to donate his organs. Donating organs is a great service and it saves the life of many people. The function was attended by many dignities from various fields. It made the people aware of the benefits of donation. On this special occasion, many dignitaries promised to donate their organs. Col. A.K. Seth, director of AORTA in his concluding speech thanked everyone for participating and for coming forward to donate their organs. We hope more people come forward in this noble effort.
