Priyanka Chopra looks forward to be a producer now

The gorgeous Bollywood diva Priyanks Chopra is all set to start a new trend! As if the titles of an actor and an international singer weren’t enough that the lady is now wishing to produce a Madhur Bhandarkar directed film.

With ‘Mary Kom’ official trailers out, Priyanka has bagged yet another film with her former director and friend, Madhur Bhandarkar, who had earlier casted her in ‘Fashion’, for which Priyanka had won a National Award. Bhandarkar now approached her for his upcoming film ‘Madamji’ and Priyanka fell in love with the script, so much so that she even wished to co-produce it!

"Priyanka (Chopra) and I have been discussing the script. Priyanka is very excited about the subject of ‘Madamji’. The film's subject is extraordinary. We always wanted to work together post 'Fashion', unfortunately we never came across a great subject," the filmmaker told reporters. "Now we are working out on dates and logistics and if everything falls in place, then we will definitely make the film with her," he added.

Madhur Bhandarkar is known for his hard hitting films and isn't afraid to showcase reality on screen. He is also known to extract brilliant performances from all his actors. ‘Madamji’ is a story of an item girl-turned politician and like all other Madhur Bhandarkar films is expected to exhibit many bold scenes. It will be shot in Mumbai, Delhi and UP. The film is woman-centric and like all of Madhur’s films, it will be made on a modest budget.

However, the gossip that we get to hear is that Priyanka has expressed her inhibitions in doing the explicit scenes and has even asked her director to tone down the sexual content.

A source revealed, "Priyanka and Madhur are working closely on the script and recently, she expressed her reservations to him. Most of the scenes which she objected to appear are in the first half of the film. There are some intense love-making scenes and Priyanka wants some of those edited out."

The project has apparently got delayed since Priyanka informed Madhur that although she is bowled over by the script and surely wants to be a part of the project, she can only take up the role after she is finished with Omung Kumar's ‘Mary Kom’ and Zoya Akhtar's ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’.

A source close to a leading portal has added that since Priyanka wants to do ‘Madamji’ in one go as it is a challenging role. Madhur is now planning to wrap up ‘Calendar Girls’, a moderate-budget film which needs only 55-56 days of shoot.
