Priyanka Chopra is now a ‘Hollywood Royal’
‘Desi girl’ Priyanka Chopra has conquered the West with her hit American TV series ‘Quantico’ for which she even got the People’s Choice Award for Best Actress in New Series. She has been to the Oscars, attended various glamorous pre and after-parties and graced covers of top international magazines. And now, she has made it to another renowned magazine cover as a ‘New Royal’.
Priyanka has been chosen as one of ‘The New Royals’ by W magazine this year. The actress has featured on the cover of the magazine’s annual Hollywood Royals issue. In a tweet, the magazine wrote, [email protected] has gone from an unknown in America to one of Hollywood's brightest stars.”
The cover features Priyanka alongside Hollywood and International television stalwarts like Halle Berry, Jodie Foster and Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Elle Fanning. Stars like Julianne Moore, Naomi Campbell, Allison Williams, Charlotte Casiraghi, Cara Delevingne and Claire Danes have been part of the prestigious lineage in the past.
Priyanka also shared the cover on her Instagram page with the caption, ‘I love this cover. Thx u @WMag! Such an honor to be named Royalty alongside this insanely talented group. I always thought I was a queen (haha) #TheRoyals #DreamComeTrue.’
In the cover, Priyanka is seen in a blue ruffled top with minimal make-up. The magazine talks both about her popularity and her status as a ‘fashion week favourite’, and her 'beauty on a budget' attitude.
The magazine, which focuses on game-changers of the entertainment industry, also posted an empowering video of Priyanka speaking about confidence and what it means to be 'royal.' The actress shared the video on Instagram with the caption, ‘It's been a while since I've given a screen test @wmag #TheRoyals.’
Priyanka will soon make her Hollywood debut with Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron starrer ‘Baywatch’, based on the popular 1990s tele-series of the same name. Directed by Seth Gordon and also starring Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach, Ilfenesh Hadera and Jon Bass, the movie will release in May next year.
